This Lunch and Learn will review the current ASME code adopted by the State of Ohio as it pertains to elevator emergency communications; the impact the 2022 FCC Order 10-72a1 had on emergency phone lines and the costs and risk associated with that; and lastly, this will cover the upcoming adoption of the ASME 17.1-2019 code standard which the State of Ohio is adopting this year (effective approximately April) and the significant impact that will have on the risk, liability and costs building owners and managers will face moving forward.
